1940 American (Austin) Bantam Riviera Convertible Sedan

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1940 American Bantam Riviera Convertible Sedan. American Bantam rose from the ashes of the former American Austin company, which built the venerable Austin Seven here in the U.S. but fell victim to the Great Depression. The Seven was the basis for lots of interesting cars, including BMW's first automobile, the Dixi. American Bantam was the last iteration of the Seven sold in the U.S. and only around 6,000 cars were produced from 1937 to 1941. Only around 350 of the Riviera four-seat convertibles were made, making this among the rarest variant.

This example is a nice driver owned by a long-time Bantam club member. Finished in burgundy with a matching interior and a black convertible top, the doors have roll-up windows (although the rear quarter windows are of the removable side-curtain variety). Body is straight and solid and the top, side curtains, glass and interior are all in good condition.
