1977 International Harvester Scout II Traveler

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1977 International Harvester Scout II Traveler. This is a well-optioned example with a V8, automatic transmission, four-wheel drive, power steering and power brakes (front disk). This truck has a great look and several upgrades for both on- and off-road capabilities including front and rear lockers, a winch, bumpers that double as air tanks, LED exterior lighting, updated gauges with tach, and a modern stereo with a 9-inch touch screen display.

Paint and body present to a good driver standard, finished in matte pewter with matte black rallye stripes and a black soft top. The underside is a little muddy from off-road use, but there is no known rust -- body, frame, floor pans, rockers and cab supports are all solid. 15-inch steel wheels are wearing BF Goodrich 33x12.50 all terrain tires. Custom front and rear bumpers, in addition to being quite sturdy, double as air reservoirs and have standard air hose fittings to store compressed air for trail use (you can air up your tires without having to lug a compressor along with you). A Warn 6,000 lb winch stowed in the cargo area may be attached to either the front or rear bumper (a heavy duty quick disconnect power cable is present at both ends). And a hi-lift jack is lashed to the back.

Interior floors have been rhino lined for all-weather durability; front and rear bench seats, dash and door panels are covered in durable all-weather vinyl. Dash has been nicely updated with a complete set of modern and accurate gauges that display fuel level, oil pressure, water temp and voltage (plus a tachometer and speedometer). Alpine Halo audio/video receiver with a 9-inch touch-screen display offers bluetooth connectivity and a backup camera.

Under the hood is a 345 cubic inch V8 mated to a TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission; with four-wheel drive and OX Lockers for both the front and rear axles, this Scout is unstoppable off road. It's also one of the better driving Scouts we've had come through our shop thanks to recent springs, shocks and tie rod ends. Lots of recent service including a new engine wiring harness, new Holley 2300 carburetor with electric choke and a full transmission rebuild. It starts easily and runs great.

Few truck driving experiences are as enjoyable as driving a Scout on a nice weather day with the windows down and the sides and back panel of the soft top rolled up, and this particular truck also has the off-road bona fides to match the look.
