1992 Porsche 964 Turbo WLS X33

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1992 Porsche 911 Turbo, a rest-of-world coupe that was delivered new in Germany and is one of approximately 192 examples optioned with the X33 factory power increase package. This 964 is finished in Guards Red over black full leather upholstery, and power comes from a turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transmission.

Impeccable condition both inside and out, and completely stock aside from an upgraded Porsche Classic stereo. Stamped service book plus records confirm 171,000 km (106,000 miles) but this Turbo shows and drives as a car with half that mileage. Very straight body with excellent paint finish quality; very clean underneath, in the front trunk and engine compartment. 17-inch cup wheels are wearing nearly new Michelins. A Walter Röhrl signature is present on the fuel door.

Interior presents beautifully with heated sport seats; carpets, seats, headliner, door panels, steering wheel and leather-wrapped dash remain in excellent condition. All gauges, lights, switches and indicators are working as they should. A/C blows cold. The Porsche Classic stereo is a great option for this car, as it looks right at home in the dash but provides modern functionality (including two USB ports mounted to the right of the center console).

Any air-cooled Porsche 911 Turbo has always been at the pinnacle of performance for its era, but the chassis improvements of the 964 offer a far more refined driving experience than a G-body Turbo (although we certainly love those, too). The turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six was equipped with the X33 power increase package from the factory, which added 40 horsepower to produce a total output of approximately 355 horsepower. The WLS X33 package brings the performance of this 3.3 turbo almost on par with the 3.6 turbo that followed it. In the fine German tradition of having a word for everything, WLS stands for werksleistungssteigerung -- literally, factory power increase. Fewer than 200 964 Turbo WLS X33 examples were sold worldwide, making this an exceptionally rare Porsche indeed.
