1989 Porsche 911 Turbo

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo. Finished in silver metallic over black interior, this is a very clean and well-maintained example with service history to new. Recent professional detail and paint correction; paint meters as original on all panels. Factory turbo wheels (Fuchs) are wearing Pirelli tires with 2020 date codes. Clean CarFax with no accidents. Shows as a car with half the mileage inside and out. Excellent floors with no rust or damage. Porsche CoA confirms original numbers-matching engine and transmission.

Interior presents nicely with door panels, seat upholstery, dash, steering wheel and headliner all in excellent original condition. The only modifications from stock are the addition of a tasteful set of cocoa mats and an updated Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB stereo -- it matches the appearance of a classic late 1980s Blaupunkt but with modern USB and bluetooth functionality. All gauges, switches, indicators and lights are, of course, working. The A/C has been converted to R134a and blows cold.

This 930 has a comprehensive and well-documented service history, with records neatly organized in a binder several inches thick. Highlights include a top-end engine rebuild in 2012 at 75k miles with new head studs and piston rings, resealed cam covers in 2017, a complete brake job 2,000 miles ago, a fuel head rebuild 1,000 miles ago and new fuel injectors, valve adjustment and oil service just 500 miles ago. A 2022 analysis shows compression between 125 and 130 psi, and leakdown at 2 percent across all six cylinders.

While this 930 maintains a stock appearance, it has benefited from a few mild and desirable performance upgrades -- notably, in 2019 it got a Turbokraft intercooler, Garrett GT35R turbo, TiAL 46 mm wastegate, and the exhaust has been upgraded with Billy Boat headers and a Monty muffler. The result is a car that breathes far better than stock, with boost starting lower in the rev range and noticeably less turbo lag. I find it smoother and more rewarding to drive than a bone-stock example thanks to these improvements (it's certainly easier to keep it in boost with the wider power delivery band). All of the original factory parts are included with the sale.

The '89 930 has always been our favorite -- final year of production for the G-body torsion bar cars and the only year with a G50 5-speed manual transmission. This is one of the best looking and best driving examples we've had. For more information about this 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo for sale at Motorcar Studio in Savannah, please call 404-692-5250.
