1979 Porsche 911 SC Targa

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1979 Porsche 911SC Targa, finished in silver metallic over a black interior. Recent maintenance within the last three years consists of a comprehensive tune up by Franz Blam. A valve adjustment was performed, and this car also received a new clutch, crank seal, heat exchangers and exhaust. Additional recent service includes turbo tie rods, all new bushings, new brakes and rotors, alignment, new battery and more.

The 3.0 liter flat-six fires up easily, sounds healthy, and pulls strong throughout the rev range. Power is sent to the wheels by a type 915 five-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly with no crunchy synchros. The engine has been updated with Carrera-style timing chain tensioners, and a pop-off valve is present in the airbox.

The paint and body present nicely with only minor imperfections. Fuchs wheels are wearing a set of new Kumho Ecsta tires. The undercarriage is solid with no known rust issues. Interior shows well with excellent steering wheel, door cards and a crack-free dash. The seats remain soft with no noticeable wear. Included with the sale are several years' worth of service records and the original, partially-stamped service booklet.
