1979 International Harvester Scout II

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1979 International Scout II, a very nicely restored and well-optioned truck with fuel injection, automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes. This truck is finished in dark grey metallic with black flares, custom front and rear bumpers, custom side steps mounted to the frame and an early-style Scout II steel grille. Paint quality, panel gaps and door fitment are among the best we've seen on any Scout. It's running a four-inch lift with Method 18x9 wheels wearing BF Goodrich 275/65R18 all terrain tires (equivalent to 32 inches). It has a fantastic look and just the right stance. Nice glass, mostly new lenses and badges, LED headlight upgrade. A custom six-point roll cage provides multiple top configurations -- it has a Softopper full soft top plus a safari top mesh screen lashed to the roll cage for a more open air (but still somewhat shaded) experience with the soft top fully removed.

Interior is finished to an equally nice standard with Corbeau Trailcat diamond-stitched reclining front bucket seats and a factory rear bench that has been reupholstered in black. The roll cage allows for three-point seat belts both front and rear. Original factory gauges and backlights are all working properly; a modern Pioneer stereo with an MB Quart amp and four Kicker speakers provide excellent sound quality. Carpet front to back reduces road noise.

This Scout drives unusually well thanks to a host of suspension upgrades. It's running a Skyjacker four-inch lift with Nitro 8000 shocks, new body bushings and shackles, heavy duty tie rod and drag link, and a Skyjacker steering stabilizer. It feels tight and "put together" thanks to these new components plus new ball joints, bearings, seals, u-joints, and more. Recent brake job with new brake hoses, new front rotors and pads and complete rebuild of rear drums.

Under the hood is a 304 cubic inch V8 running Holley Sniper Electronic Fuel Injection mated to a TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission. The Holley Sniper EFI is our favorite setup -- offering turn-key starting, reliability and exceptionally smooth running. Recent service includes a fresh tune-up with new distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires, new gas tank, fuel pump and fuel lines, and a new starter. Maintenance is up to date with recent engine oil and transmission fluid service.

This is easily among the nicest cosmetically and one of the best running and driving Scouts we've had. For more information about this 1979 International Scout II for sale at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta, please call 404-692-5250.
