1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Two-Door Hardop

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this stunning 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe. Presented in its original colors of Surf Green with an India Ivory hardtop, paint and body are very nice with excellent bumpers, trim and chrome. Straight and solid throughout; floor pans and all body panels are believed to be original -- this has never been a rusty car. Nice wheels and hubcaps with modern BF Goodrich white wall radials for improved handling.

Sold new at Don Allen Chevrolet in Manhattan, back when automobile dealerships still lined Broadway. The original order form, owner service policy and car invoice are included with the car's documentation -- based on the records, the first owner kept this Bel Air for at least 30 years.

The interior remains in remarkably well-preserved original condition. There is some light wear showing on paint on the upper portion of the driver's door, the armrest and on the left side of the front seat -- but except for new carpet, all interior surfaces retain their factory finishes and materials. Completely stock aside from an upgraded stereo (which retains a period look and fits in the original dash opening) and a CD changer hidden in the trunk. The selling dealer's sticker is still adhered to the inside of the glove box door.

Ordered with a Powerglide automatic transmission, radio, heater, white wall tries, windshield washers and a coat of wax. Engine bay is tidy and correct, with the addition of a few minor upgrades for drivability: a four-barrel Carter carburetor (with the original oil-bath air cleaner) and an alternator. Original generator (which had been recently rebuilt and was working fine when removed) and the original intake manifold and two-barrel carburetor are included. This Bel Air starts easily and runs and drives beautifully. Transmission shifts smoothly, and steering, suspension and brakes all feel as they should (the car tracks and stops straight). Mechanically well-sorted with no known needs. Extensive service records from around 2007 to present accompany the sale, along with the owner's manual and original purchase documents from 1957.
