1987 Lotus Turbo Esprit HCi

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1987 Lotus Turbo Esprit HCi. This Esprit is a show-quality example in beautiful original condition. Finished in code A02 black over striking red leather interior, it has been under the same Atlanta ownership for ten years. 1987 was the final production year for the Giugiaro (or G-body) Esprit and represented the most refined and fully developed package -- unlike earlier carbureted examples, the HCi received Bosch fuel injection, a higher compression ratio and slightly higher boost making for a fast and easy-to-live-with supercar. Only 159 Turbo HCi's were built for the 1987 model year and this is one of only seven produced in this color combination. It has been adult-enthusiast owned throughout its life and has traveled only 27,000 careful miles.

This Esprit is a very original car with excellent original paint and soft original leather interior showing virtually no wear. It won best of show at the Atlanta British Car Fayre in 2013 and was invited to be displayed on the lawn at the 2016 Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance. It runs and drives great with strong power delivery and an overall tight feel. The A/C blows cold and everything works except for the CD changer built in to the Alpine head unit. It was just serviced and given a PPI in preparation for sale, a copy of which is available to interested parties. The tool kit, service manual, owner's manual, Certificate of Vehicle Provenance from Lotus, bag for removable roof panel and roof spoiler are included. This is surely one of the nicer G-body Esprits you will find and would be a lovely addition to any collection.
