1932 Ford Roadster Highboy
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this very nice 1932 Ford
Highboy Roadster, formerly owned by Metallica frontman James Hetfield. A proper
hotrod with the right components and built with an eye to detail. Original and
properly titled '32 Ford Roadster chassis with its original front cowl, hood,
doors and trunk. Body tub is replaced
with a Brookville body. Stunning dark blue metallic with matching lined convertible
top over cream interior.
Mercury flathead V8 is mated to a T5 overdrive (five-speed)
transmission and Ford 9-inch rear end with limited slip. This setup makes great
power and sounds lovely with twin Strombergs, Fenton headers and Edlebrock
heads. Giant Buick brakes are appropriate and coupled with a Willwood master
offer excellent stopping power. Generator body houses a modern alternator and
the aluminum radiator with electric fan keeps things cool. Four-link rear with
coil overs.
The beautifully upholstered seat has been located further
back, mounted on sliders and is heated. Finish quality is excellent throughout
and the build shows as fresh and tasteful -- Stewart Warner gauges and Guide
headlight buckets were intentionally left with some patina and we dig it. It
would be difficult to replicate this '32 for anywhere close to the asking price.
