1973 Land Rover 88 Series III

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1973 Land Rover 88 Series III on behalf of the estate of its late, long-term enthusiast owner. This Land Rover was in good original condition with approximately 68,000 miles when he purchased it in 1994; over the last decade it has been painstakingly restored to a “better than new” standard and is now showing 88,000 miles. We believe this to be a three-owner truck.

Restoration and upgrade details include (but are not limited to) a galvanized chassis, rebuilt gearbox, rebuilt engine, performance headers, stainless exhaust, Weber carburetor, rebuilt brakes and suspension, Superwinch overdrive, new wiring, new interior, locking Tuffy console with stereo, Rocky Mountain aluminum door tops (aka side curtains), Rovers North roof rack with Hella lighting, custom front bumper, upgraded heater and much more.

Paint and body were completed to a very nice standard and it was finished in correct pastel green. Virtually every nut, bolt, rubber and piece of trim has been replaced or restored. Refinished wheels are wearing nearly new all-terrain tires with a matching spare mounted on the bonnet.

This Land Rover runs and drives great, and with the engine performance upgrades and overdrive it can be comfortably driven at highway speeds. Stacks of records and photographs are included along with a 1992 title stating “actual miles” and the original owner's manual. This truck was its owner's “pride and joy” for over 20 years and was treated as such; it's now ready for a new caretaker.
