1920 Ford Model TT Delivery

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1920 Ford Model TT Delivery. The Model T, which revolutionized personal transportation and brought the automobile to the masses, was as versatile as it was affordable. Available from the factory in several variants and endlessly customized, the Model TT was essentially Ford's first pickup truck. It was built with standard Model T running gear but offered a heaver frame and rear axle with a one-ton payload. Prior to 1924, Ford sold only the chassis for its TT trucks -- the buyer had to either supply or build the body.

This is a nicely restored example that was the long-term project of a custom home builder, who painstakingly restored the chassis and drivetrain and built a new cab and bed in period-correct style. Frame, axle and most suspension components are powder coated. Steel fenders, running boards and hood finished in correct gloss black. Cab and bed are exquisitely fashioned out of white oak. Windows are glass, not lexan. The uppermost bed side rails are removable.

Under the hood is a 177 cubic inch flathead four Model T engine mated to a Model T two-speed planetary gearbox. Stock six-volt positive-ground electrical system with original (but overhauled) trembler coil ignition. Electric starter. Starts easily and runs and drives just as a Model T should (see video).
