1955 Nash Metropolitan Convertible

The Nash Metropolitan is a neat little piece of automotive history -- little being the operative word -- it's the first "city car" designed in the U.S. specifically for the U.S. market. It's the Smart car of yesteryear, but with more substance and style. This example, a 1955 Metropolitan Convertible, is very attractive in spruce green with a tan convertible top. It saw a complete restoration, including engine rebuild, in 2012 and has been driven fewer than 1,000 miles since.Lightweight and powered by a 1200 cc Austin four-cylinder engine, fuel economy ranges from 30 to 45 miles per gallon, depending on driving conditions. The engine starts and runs well, and both the clutch and three-speed manual gearbox feel just as they should. It's fun to drive, and it brings a smile to anyone who sees it passing by.  As small as it is, it doesn't feel cramped inside and it has plenty of storage space behind the rear seat (the rear seat itself is surprising spacious, but when the top is down, it folds into the rear seat area). Original AM radio is still working. This Met is a great classic to add to any collection or an easy, fun and inexpensive car to break into the hobby -- especially for someone who lives in town and does not want to pilot a land yacht. Owner's manual and 1955 sales literature included. For more information about this 1955 Nash Metropolitan Convertible for sale at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta, please call 404-692-5250.
