1978 International Super Scout II

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1978 International
Harvester Super Scout (SSII). This Scout shows exactly as it left the factory --
all SSIIs were fitted with plastic door inserts, fender flares, plastic grille,
roll bar, soft top and doors and the special stripe kit that you see on this
truck. They were introduced to compete with the Jeep CJ and were campaigned
successfully in the off-road racing circuit in the late 70s. Produced in small
numbers and only for the 1977-79 model years (and with SSII-specific VIN
numbers) they have long been highly sought after by Binder enthusiasts.This example was sold new in Athens, Georgia, and was used
by the original owner to tow his sailboat to nearby Lake Lanier. The second
owner, a friend of ours, purchased it 22 years ago and drove it home to Alabama
where it has lived since. It has 59,000 original miles on it. One repaint in
its original color of white. Recent new stripe kit, tune up, engine detail,
carburetor and more. 

All stock including working factory AM/FM factory radio; custom
bumpers and a tachometer added in period. Optioned with a V8, four-speed
manual, power steering, power disk (front) brakes and 4wd. Runs and drives
great. No accident or rust history ever. Rare original top and doors are
included -- they could use a trip to the upholstery shop as the windows are in
bad shape but the nearly impossible-to-find door frames are in good condition.
This SSII is a great turn-key cruiser and a rare find.
