1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible. This Karman built Beetle is finished in white over white interior with a black canvas convertible top. The early Super Beetles (1971 and 1972) retained the classic flat windshield and standard dash but gained McPherson front suspension and significantly more trunk space - making them a bit unique and a nice blend of comfort and styling.
This example shows to a good driver standard - an older repaint in white retains a nice shine with newer lenses, rubbers and some chrome bits. Likewise the interior is clean and tidy with comfortable seats, working gauges and a modern stereo. The cloth top (not vinyl) with glass rear window is in very good condition.
Recent brake flush, new carburetor, brake light switches, shift coupler and other items have been addressed to make this a fun and reliable cruiser. It is mostly rust free - there is an an area under the battery that has been patched but otherwise floors and frame are solid and believed original. The 1600CC dual port motor runs well and pulls strong, an extractor style exhaust is fitted.
There is likely no better point of entry into classic car ownership than a Beetle convertible - and be prepared for smiles, waves and stories of days gone by wherever you go.
