1968 Chevrolet SS Camaro
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS, a well-optioned and very correct example powered by a 350 cubic inch V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission (both of which are numbers matching). Finished in Ash Gold, paint and body present to a very nice restored standard. Tidy and nicely detailed underneath with no trace of rust. Excellent glass, bumpers, grille, lenses and trim. Firestone "wide oval" bias ply redline tires on factory wheels with hubcaps. It's certainly a great-looking car that never fails to turn heads.
Although this SS Camaro maintains a correct and original appearance (and also retains its original engine and transmission), the present enthusiast owner has undertaken several updates to enhance its driveability, including fuel injection, electronic ignition, a power disk brake upgrade, and power steering conversion.
Interior has been fully restored with new seat upholstery, door panels and carpets. The dash features the speedometer and a tic-toc tach, with additional gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, temperature and voltage installed in the center console. All gauges are clear and working (the digital display for the EFI is hidden inside the center console arm rest glove box). Radio delete.
Under the hood is the original, numbers-matching 350 ci / 295 hp V8 paired with the original, numbers-matching four-speed manual transmission. Both were rebuilt when the car was restored under prior ownership. Power is fed to the rear wheels by a 12-bolt posi-traction rear axle. Under present ownership this Camaro has been upgraded with Holley Sniper EFI (with matching electronic ignition), a heavy duty alternator, new wiring harness, power steering and power brakes with front disk conversion. This work was professionally done and is documented by invoices exceeding $25,000. It starts easily and runs and drives (and stops) well.
